Position Summary

This role provides trading and market coverage across APAC credit and Asia Emerging Markets, spanning investment‑grade and high‑yield credit, Asia EM external and local markets, and FX. The position operates within a dual‑reporting framework reflecting the firm’s global investment platform:

  • APAC credit responsibilities report to the London‑based fixed income team
  • Asia Emerging Markets credit, rates, and FX responsibilities report to the Los Angeles‑based investment and trading leadership

The role requires strong execution capabilities, balanced experience across APAC credit and Asia EM markets, and the ability to support portfolio implementation through effective market insight and trade execution.

Essential Duties

APAC Credit (Investment Grade & High Yield)

  • Serve as the primary trader for APAC credit across investment grade and high yield, with full accountability for execution quality, liquidity management, and position awareness
  • Source and execute primary and secondary market opportunities across APAC corporates and financials
  • Drive APAC credit idea generation, contributing issuer‑ and sector‑level relative value views, curve positioning, and thematic trade opportunities consistent with a value‑driven investment philosophy
  • Participate in APAC credit committee meetings, actively contributing to investment discussions and portfolio positioning decisions
  • Delivering ongoing APAC credit market color on valuations, flows, liquidity conditions, and technical dynamics to portfolio managers and investment teams
  • Work closely with the London‑based fixed income team to align execution strategy and market views with portfolio objectives

Asia Emerging Markets Credit, Rates & FX

  • Serve as a core trader for Asia EM external and local markets, covering sovereign and corporate credit, local rates, and related instruments
  • Execute Asia FX transactions across EM and DM currencies, supporting Asia EM portfolio positioning, hedging activity, and relative‑value strategies
  • Contribute Asia EM credit and cross‑asset relative value ideas across credit, rates, and FX
  • Participate actively in Asia EM local and external strategy meetings, contributing to positioning decisions, risk discussions, and portfolio construction
  • Provide real‑time Asia EM market color on flows, liquidity, issuance, valuations, and investor sentiment to Los Angeles‑based portfolio managers
  • Support portfolio implementation for Asia EM strategies, ensuring accurate execution, sizing, and alignment with investment objectives

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local broker‑dealers and market counterparties across APAC and Asia EM
  • Leverage dealer relationships to enhance market intelligence, liquidity access, and execution outcomes
  • Contribute to best‑execution practices through ongoing evaluation of execution quality, liquidity conditions, and dealer performance

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant investment trading or investment experience in Asian markets
  • Excellent educational credentials. Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant fields
  • Motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Professional Skills Qualifications

- Proven experience trading Asia Emerging Markets credit, with balanced exposure to APAC investment‑grade and high‑yield credit
- Strong understanding of Asia EM external debt, local markets, and FX execution mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to generate actionable relative value ideas across credit, rates, and FX
- Established sell‑side relationships across Asia EM and broader APAC markets
- Comfortable operating within a dual‑reporting global investment framework
- Prior experience working with trade settlement and risk systems

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA preferred advanced degree or professional designation preferred

 

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For Singapore based position, the base salary range is S$220k - S$250k. This represents base salary range only.

Other Compensation:In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
